Meet Abbey: In the world of health and wellness, Abbey’s mission is really about inspiring and empowering people through spirituality and personal growth.
What is your current role in Health & Wellbeing and what does it involve?
I offer Reiki training that not only encourages self-healing but also awakens your ability to support others. Through a combination of retreats, spiritual circles, intuitive guidance, sacred ceremonies, 1:1’s and multidimensional healing sessions, I integrate over 20 years of experience in Reiki, Yoga, sound and crystal healing, as well as oracle card readings.
What’s been your greatest achievement at work?
The creation of my Astara Alchemy Aura and Space Sprays which took seven years of dedicated development to reach a point where I feel truly satisfied with the results. They started when a friend, who had passed away, gifted me oils from Egypt, which I started intuitively mixing together.
All the healing modalities I’ve embodied over the years—such as Reiki, crystal work, sound healing, medicine songs, and sacred geometry—are infused into these sprays. I take immense pride in crafting something tangible and beneficial for others, alongside navigating the practical aspects of product development for sale.
These sprays are utilised to clear auras and are used by many therapists for space clearing.
What is your favourite part of Cornwall?
I have a love of the ocean and sacred sites, especially the holy water wells, which are integral to my work with Astara Alchemy sprays. I work deeply with the land, its ley lines, and its energetic properties. Since I’ve been connecting with sacred sites for example Men An Tol, where I crawled through the birthing portal there many years ago and a year later welcomed my daughter into the world. Recently, upon revisiting, I was inspired to create a medicine song dedicated to the holy wells and ancient stones. It’s so important to me that we make connections with sacred spaces, Cornwall has so many sacred sites such as Sancreed Well, St Michael’s Mount, Merry Maidens, we are so blessed.
What’s a little known fact about you?
When I was in India studying yoga and reiki I was asked whether I would be an extra in a Bollywood film featuring Amir Khan. Contrary to my initial thoughts of being a Bollywood dancer, the film was styled in Edwardian English fashion, so I found myself wearing a large hoop dress! We even got paid which was amazing, and the amount we got was quite a lot in India!
What’s the best advice you’ve ever been given?
One of the most inspiring sentences I’ve ever heard was from my daughter, Sky, when she was around 7 or 8. She said “Mummy, nothing is good or bad; it’s all just experience.” Children have so much wisdom to give to us if we would just listen and take note sometimes.
